有申請2007年商學院博士班的朋友嗎？

要扣稅，進學校以後學校會讓你填W2，然後會withholding一部份你的錢當作tax，之後再依正常程序報稅就行了。免學費的部分應該是不用報稅的，只有生活費才要。

Although I have conducted 4 interviews, I haven't heard of anything, not even a rejection. It's approaching the mid of March, the end of the application season, and I have heard of nothing. I start to think that I have been waitlisted or rejected already and prepare for the future life without going for a PhD. So sad.

hsudk，在結果還沒出來之前，先不要放棄，等待的日子總是特別漫長，但這是人生的一部分。還是希望你能進快拿到入學許可，為你加油！

還有些是沒有要interview的
不過hsudk是啥時interview呢?
我的狀況是二月中(15號左右)interview沒回音已經被放到wl上了...
(沉不住氣寫信去問了 ... 哀)
反正都interview了, 最差也有wl吧呵呵
rejected也是命阿, 對岸牛人多阿...

除了已經收到四封拒絕信,其他六間也完全完全沒消息~~
只有前天開車的時候,突然接到一位BU教授的電話(事先完全沒通知...)
簡單問一些resume上面的問題和選校問題
手邊完全沒相關資料還邊開車,真是有夠慘的...講了15分鐘,只說要回去跟committee討論,下禮拜左右會知道結果,有否financial aid則要更晚才會知道
到現在,我也不太知道這是怎樣的情況,如果是interview不是應該都會先約時間嗎?!我問他之後還會有phone interview or campus interview,他跟我說沒有~~真是心都涼了 ;''(

相較起來,hsudk老大您還是充滿希望的~~那麼多interview就是種肯定
像我這種情形,自己都覺得似乎差人一大截,所以才靜悄悄~~ :sad

I am also applying to BU but haven't heard of anything. It is not surprising for this as my research interest may not be the best fit to BU's faculty interests. I heard from three schools that the competition this year is the fiercest one they have ever seen.

I got 3 interviews. However, one rejected me already and another put me on the waitlist. The other just started to rank the applicants on the final list.

My first interview was conducted around 2/4 and the second one with the same school followed on 2/13. I haven't received a rejection so I guess I am on its waiting list. I kept thinking about whether I did something wrong during the interview. I recalled that a professor asked me whether I could get more reference letters from US professors to them. Other professors asked about how highly I was interested in joining their program. I guess these two might be the reasons that they didn't give me the offer.

To all those who are still waiting for schools' decisions:

Don't be frustrated if you haven't heard from them. Some programs just have not officially started their review process.

Moreover, don't forget that many outstanding applicants would get multiple offers, yet only one school will be chosen. Thus most schools won't finalize their admission process until they hear from all their top candidates-- if some of the offers they extend earlier are rejected, they will look for other great candidates from their shortlist.

It's not uncommon to see schools make two or even three rounds of offers. Therefore, some applicants may get offers in late March or even in April.

In a word, no rejection letter means there is still hope. Good luck to all!

Yeah, I agree with Jade, "no rejection letter means hope exists."

I just emailed to all the chair of marketing departments that not rejected me yet and heard some positive news.
Among them are, " I am on the final list of six candidates recommended to this year, and " I have passed its first selection."

Anyway, without a rejection letter, even there is no "phone interview", hope does exist!!
So....never give up!!

嗚嗚~~~~
20分鐘前....毫無預警地一通電話來自美國中東部,
爸媽緊張地大喊著叫我起床接電話....
沒錯! 是美國的教授....

我還在心想, "馬的, 是哪個鬼學校, 要打電話給我也不先講, 也挑這種時間...."

拿起電話, 我試圖掩飾住還在睡中的口吻, 與教授談了一會,
教授並沒有問我任何專業問題,
只問我...."Do you have any other offer?"
"If we offer you the admission, which one would you prefer?"

當下的我, 並沒有掩飾任何資訊,
坦白說, 我認為任何我申請的學校都是值得我念的,
我就直說, 我尚有一間在紐約的學校,
但, 若跟貴校相比, 我是偏好貴校的,

之後, 我簡單地問了一下, 是否會有學費抵免與獎助學金的問題,
教授說, 當然會有, 我們的offer都會伴隨著這些東西..

最後, 教授說, 他們會給我offer, 只是要確定一下我的申請狀況!
(我應該沒有聽錯才是....)
(在收到正式的email或package之後, 我再把學校po出! ^^ )
