有關og對AC的解釋(如下)不懂....
In A and C, in isolation from contact is wordy and unidiomatic.

請問，這裡所說的wordy 是因為 in isolation from contact 較
isolated from contact 多了一字in 所以wordy?這裡有語意上的redundant嗎?

就他老人家的說法
224題的were跟這提的had都是動辭
是舊的要先講
後面所比的受辭是新的所以要留最後吃

AC講wordy是小弟解說多次的"狀態"與"動作"的差異
在ETS規則裡
"動作"永遠比"狀態"direct直接有力
能用動作就不用狀態
AC是一個狀態
要寫三個字
如果用動作表達isolated from就只要兩個字
所以講AC是wordy

對了
建議以歐雞為重
可以在還沒進入模考前可以拿莫老師的書來預習一下
但建議開始模考後就全心以歐雞為主
因為歐雞是ETS出的
雞考完全以歐雞為基準出題

而到後段進階
會發現都是句意題
一開始可能用技巧規則可以解一些提
但到後面就沒辦法了
即使可以勉強湊的出答案
會發現跟歐雞的句意解法完全不同
若仍苦守技巧規則
將會無法突破

考古提也都是技巧提
有時間的話run一遍就夠了
萬法歸宗的句意精髓才是一生受用的任督二脈

in isolation 是一個狀態 (in a status of isolation) , isolated 是一個動作; OG 說 in isolation ... with Sb 語意講不通, 我的理解是既然已在隔絕的狀態,就沒有 contact 的問題 (in isolation言下之意就已經排除跟外界接觸的可能性), 所以 in isolation from contact with Sb 是有語病的.

以莫伯伯的解題技巧,簡潔的前提下,單字>片語>子句,動詞>名詞>形容詞>副詞 => (B) (D) 選一個
(B) 把相同的字省略,可能性之一: Inuits of the Bering Sea were isolated from contact with "Europeans" longer than (Inuits of the Bering Sea were isolated from contact with) "Aleuts or Inuits of the North Pacific and northern Alaska".
可能性之二為 (D) "Inuits of the Bering Sea" were isolated from contact with Europeans longer than were "Aleuts or Inuits of the North Pacific and northern Alaska" (isolated from contact with Europeans).
