根據OG的explanatory material和莫老的講法,都是修飾語誤植的問題,(E)代表的句意像是目前的extinction在DDT管制後還多了五倍,而非falcon因為DDT管制後數量多了五倍,用(A)的it可以優先代替原題主詞falcon,句意比較不會被挑剔

字面上解釋不都是數量多於或大於的意思嗎?

more than 則是指數量多或少
The gyrfalcons now are more than those a decade ago.

numbers是名詞, 所以前面要放所有格its而不是主格it

數字用 greater => (A) (E) 選一個;
(E) with numbers 和 with extinction 平衡, numbers 可數名詞, extinction 抽象名詞, 辭意不對稱. 雖然沒有對等連接詞來提示平衡, ETS 非常喜歡句子間的對稱關係, 用這一點刪除 (E).
