我個人覺得如果用技巧做，就是刪到剩BE
我運氣好選E，理由是E呈現出到目前為止持續的狀態
B的現在式則無，句意沒有E來的完整
至於所有格的問題，我認為有生命的都可以用's

注意看這題的句型

by a, by b, and by C

所以，只有D 和 E 可選吧

而(d)
by deep-sea and coastal netting that is not
controlled

而(E)by uncontrolled deep-sea and coastal
netting

I agree with chunjuwu .
這題一定要ETS 的大原則Parellelism來看,必定是平衡三者,"...by..., by... , and by..."
我一開始也選B,但仔細想想,若選B雖不改原題的 because的因果關係,但會造成前面畫線部分和後面, by pollution, and by various other threats to the fish’s habitat 連不起來.
唯有E是平衡三者且正確的用完成式時態敘述的.

單用number是可以複數的
但在中國劉振民語法中有提到
the numbers of這個表達必錯
所以此題的C我是直街刪除的

至於其他我則是看到後面句子有兩個by
第三個by前有and
明顯的平衡題
A.B.C通殺剩下D.E
D中後面的that is 個人認為ambiguous
到底是指deep-sea還是coastal netting我看不出來

E平衡了by其實我第一次做的時候沒發現,所以選了B
因為我看到E的numbers加了s就刪掉了
請問為什麼要加s呢?

我做題的時候以平衡來解這題
時態反而沒用到
刪除D 的原因是不夠簡潔

試著說明時態問題
數量的減少應該是種持續性的動作
例如今天少兩百明天少五十
所以用完成式應該是OK的

用現在式雖然是陳述了事實
但動作上似乎在陳述的那一刻停止

正式考試有些明顯的錯誤,是可以用技巧解題,但大部份的題目往往就會剩兩個或３個選項很tricky,這時還是要回歸句意喔
