it 表示condition, 這題在說medical test不準確，前半句說有這個狀況你沒檢測出來，後半句說沒這狀況你竟然還測出有，就像醫學實驗上有無陽性反應一樣.....

這邊的a condition 是否因為相同而省略？

detect 及物動詞要接受詞 => (A) (C) (E) 選一個;
(A) there is 非限定, 意思可以指其他的 condition, 不選 (句意應該就是句子前面提的那個 condition)
(C) it = condition
(E) and 平衡 detect 和 indicate => fail to detect ... and indicate ... => 改變句意, 不選
=> (C)

更正:
(E) 沒有 presence 就不叫 detect, 所以 detect the presence of ... , presence 是多餘的吧!
這題看起來是 fail to detect ... and indicate that ..., fail 跟 indicate 平衡.
