我的選法是看到possible和may並用,犯了redundant...大刀一削A,B,C
D,E決定在and前後平衡對稱..D中and的前後詞性不一致
所以選E

小弟補充一下
這題跟redundancy無關
應該是因為改變句意
只是剛好矇到..(不要打偶啦~)

第一句豆號前是一個同位語提前
是指整個全球暖化這件事是一個
溫室效應"可能的結果"

而後面的主要子句
是講這個全球暖化包含xx,xx...
原句意在"包含"之前並沒有要傳達另一個"可能"
並不是講全球暖化"可能"包含xxx
因此不能選may
並不是因為redundancy

當場只剩DE
句意不一樣
不過用平衡就可以刪掉D
小弟還是補充一下為蛇麼選E

全球暖化包含了2個東東
包含了冰帽的熔化還有海平面的上升
melting是名詞
跟D的動名詞長一樣
而且是個抽象名詞
用冠詞會句意謬誤
而海平面有一實質基準
要加冠詞a

D是錯在一個是動名詞
是表動作的名詞
一個動作不會跟一個海平面放在一起
所以不選

這是一組同位語,所以may前面當然有逗號,表示隔開...
另外possible跟may句意相同.所以是多餘的A,B,C刪除..
D的話後面用形容詞子句說明a rise有點囉唆.

不好意思,我想請問E選項include melting of the polar ice caps and a rise in sea level 不會有語意不清的情況嗎??這不是可能會讓人以為include1.melting of the polar ice caps和 2.a rise in sea level或是include melting of 1.the polar ice caps和2.a rise in sea level兩種狀況??可否解釋一下,謝謝,我是選D啦,雖然平衡的不夠漂亮,但感覺上比較沒有語意不清的問題.

小弟覺得
這個要以句意來決定而不是文法結構
若是第二種情形
include melting of 1.the polar ice caps和2.a rise in sea level
句意變成了 "冰帽" 和 "海平面上升" 這二個東西的融解
可是"冰"可以融，"海平面上升"應該就不會融解了吧？

若有錯誤請指正 ;))

沒錯！D的選項是C（A+B）的句型
但是海水水位並不會被溶解，所以句意怪

而E的句型就OK ;))

我查了Collins Cobuild的字典查melting有名詞的詞性嗎? 但是並沒有這樣的註明
想請問, 有人在其它本的字典裡, 有查到相關的詞性嗎??

(A) may include {melting ... and a rising sea level} ; melting 理解為 Ving 為動詞辭性所以加受詞 => Ving+O and N 不平衡.
(B) may include {the melting of ... and the rising sea level} ; melting 理解為動名詞為名詞屬性, rising 理解為 Ving 為動詞辭性所以加受詞 => N and Ving+O 不平衡.
(C) may include {polar ice caps ... and sea levels ...} ; 平衡,但句意不簡潔.
(D) include {melting the polar ice caps and sea levels that are rising} ; melting 理解為 Ving 為動詞辭性所以加受詞 => Ving+O and N 不平衡.
(E) include {melting ... and a rise ...} ; melting 理解為動名詞(不可數)為名詞屬性 => N and N 平衡.
