E; 以 and 連接的東西必需結構對等來看, ",and modems" 也是錯的; 因為前面faster, powerful, reliable都是形容詞. modems 顯然不是形容詞.

所以後面的and also modems應該就是和前面主詞,動詞做平行了....

這裡不但用到由新到舊的觀念,還有由輕到重的方法.

原句是─
...more reliable, and modems, the devices that allow....lines, are becoming faster, more powerful, and more reliable, too.

the devises that allow....lines 是同位語; 劃線部分因為是舊資訊，所以省略，並且用so代替, 並加上"too" =新(因為前面沒有提到過)

這裡so是副詞,之所以用so來代替,就好像有人和你說了一堆話,你的回答會是"Yes, I think so" or "No, I don't think so"

這時候整句變成-

...more reliable, and modems, the devices that allow ...lines, are so, too.

以連接詞and為界, modems, the devices that ....lines 重; are so, too 輕.

排列必須由輕到重,所以變成─
...more reliable, and so too are modems, the devices that....lines.

所以B的解答是the devices that allow但是 that 應該是形容詞子句當主詞吧 那不就是說devices = that

換句話說 devices allow......

但上面有人回文說 devices 無法做allow這個動作

那跟devices to allow有啥不一樣
