請問關於申請中歐CEIBS

想請問一下關於中歐application.

以下是個人資料

如果說要找2個學校非進不可…一個是 USC..另一個是中歐…請問你門覺得中歐當backup….以我條件是不是太勉強….

4 years in Aerospace: 2.5 years as system analyst,(BOEING) 1.5 yrs as a Sr. project specialist(ROCKWELL COLLINS) by admission entry
EE Undergrad gpa(Top three schools in Taiwan):3.4
EE Grad gpa(Ivy level, Johns hopkins): 3.1
GMAT: 720
Sufficient voluntary community, and leadership in extra-curricular
School list
Tier1:
Wharton, TUCKER, INSEAD, HAAS
Tier 2:
UCLA, DUKE
Tier3(safey bet, I need to get in this year. So gotta get in at least one)
USC, CEIBS

I am CEIBS 07 MBA intake.
Your profle is good. Should be OK to get in CEIBS.
But it is not a gurantee. you still need to prepare a decent essay to get in.
However, it seems like you want to go to US school. Why don;t you choose other US schools as backup?
What if you only get into CEIBS, will you attend?

First of all, I totally respect CEIBS. It is a great school but I just have to carefully choose my school list. Yes, with my interests in China, if I get into CEIBS, I will definitely go.

Since you think it should be OK for me to get into CEIBS. My other question is “ would CEIBS be as easy to get in as USC” In other words, are they on the same difficulty level?

I didn't apply for USC, so I can't compare these two for you.
I don't think its easy to get into CEIBS, but the school is friendly to international students. (38% this year)
Prepare your essay and interview well, you should be fine.

The mentality of CEIBS is to harvest future well-rounded GM.
With my observation of this year's student, they are looking for experienced candidate with international exposure.

I am also 2007 CEIBS MBA from Taiwan. I totally agree with Will that CEIBS is looking for a well-rounded person with international exposure as a plus for its students. My question for you would be, "Why MBA?" and "What would you like to do after MBA?" Do you want to pursue a career in Aerospace industry? If that's the case, I would suppose that it might be difficult to get a job in aerospace in China without the right "connections". If you are looking for a change of career, then it would not make too much of a difference.

As to your choice in schools in the US, many people have different motives in going abroad. I think you should think it through. Nobody could make the decision for you. I totally support that you go to US for a different kind of experience. However, if you are deadly set on getting a career in the US after you graduate, I would have to warn you that it's very difficult if you don't have at least a green card.

As far as the difficulties to get into a particular school, I could not give you a definite answer. Usually each school do not have a set criteria in selecting its students. To me, I think the process is quite subjective. One needs luck besides exceptional skills and experience to get into a top MBA program. One other note is that as CEIBS is getting higher and higher MBA ranking, I would guess that more qualified people would like to apply. (That's why we have so many international students in our year.)
