這句話牴觸了吧!因為這句話已經說明了D選不可行，所以要再找一個原因解釋，可能的原因就是A選了

我從CD看到有人這麼解釋
"A的推理是這樣的：1*profit = yield per plant*the number of plant*price - cost
變形得：2*profit =2* yield per plant*the number of plant*price - 2*cost
因為the number of plant變為原來的兩倍，yield per plant 小於原來的一倍。因此，profit變為原來的兩倍，只有cost變小"

A的意思大概是說

將耕種的間距減半，能讓植物的葉子更緊密地互相遮蔽陽光。由此一來可以減少除草與灌溉的開銷(cost)。

Profit = Sales - Cost ==> Cost 減少，所以 Profit 增加。

只講出 plants 的量會加倍。 但 plants 的量不等於 corn 的量，所以不能選。

我覺得由於文章提到Corn planted this closely will produce lower yields per plant.這句話,

已經把revenue的部分鎖死了, 因此要增加profit的話,只能從cost方面下手

因此D選項不能選,因為數量增加有可能跟lower yield抵銷,

而A選項減少cost的話,則一定可以增加profit.

以上是我的推論啦＠＠其實我一開始也選D......

我一開始選(D) 但後來覺得(D)不好的原因是:
(D) the "number of plants" double 但題目卻告知因距離過近所以產量下降，因此就算數量變2倍也不完全等於產量變兩倍
(A) 比較好的原因是就算在前提"產量會下降"但將"costly"的成本減到最少，所以反而獲利可以增加兩倍

煩請不吝指教... :-)
