我先來說一下我的想法好了
比較對象是young people和their parents and grandparents
(A) (B) (C)如果沒有補出助動詞，無法看出到底是主格相比還是受格相比，砍

(E)Lessening是分詞作形容詞用，原形是lessen(V) (=reduce) to become smaller in size, importance, or value, or make something do this，和less意思不同，改變句意

(D)中使用had表示過去時間，句意是：”現在” young people have less of a commitment to work and a career和”過去” their parents and grandparents had have less of a commitment to work and a career相比

請問這樣理解對嗎?

(其實一開始就覺得(D)中要加助動詞的話也應該加和前面have對應的do才對，然後很快樂地就把(D)先砍了...><)

理解應該是正確的啦!
(have 有助動詞的功能,不用 do/did, 用 have/had 也行.)

(C) a smaller commitment to work and a career than that of their parents and grandparents 其實是受詞 commitment 和 commitment 比,但是不如 (D) 簡潔. (ETS 也不是省油的燈喔!)
