而it是指white house
但我有點不懂~這題句意是說:
white house在1994年任命Dr RuthR. Faden 為chairperson of the federal advisory committee of experts
那是說這個機構組織~被assign去做report on the history and ethics of the government’s radiation experiments on humans in the 1950’s and 1960’s .

那這樣的話~為何不可選D?
assign好像後面可以加to/for
原本我是選B~但是assign+ving好像沒這用法?
所以我想選D~
因為我不懂why可省略whom還有E選的整句意思也怪怪的?!請高手救命啊!!

看 (A) 的樣子, white house 不是 they ,改成 it 就是 (E) 囉!
句子: white house named Dr RuthR. Faden ... to do ... 中間小插曲不需太費心, Dr RuthR. Faden 人囉,提名去做事,用 to +V.
省略 whom (= experts) 有一說是 that (= committee).

那WHY(D)選不能
我覺得這個name應該是說name這個人為那個組織的chairperson~而他們被指派去做一個report....
啊所以是(that/whom are) assigned for doing~~~

可以就直接把that刪掉嗎?
但是要說變成committee of experts "assigned"~就是除非一樣因為that/whom可以直接刪才會有這樣的疑慮
我原本的想法是:(that are) assigned~所以就OK吧?

所以我的問題點還是卡在~為何whom or that可以就刪掉咧~句子變的怪怪的
而依原文句意~確實是說Dr. Faden被任命為主席~那ㄍ組織是要去做那個report的~~~~
