而且介詞形容詞片語in underlying.....看來好像在修飾differences

在CD上的PP筆記寫到這題說

A: of there being 错，
B: 同上
C: 同上，
D: correct, little是名词，that从句修饰little
E: little of 一般加不可数名词，同时表达否定意义

注意：
1、解释前一个名词优先使用同位语从句，遇到of + sth +doing，可以直接判断选那个that + sth + do结构
2、different和difference都可以加in表示在什么方面的不同


想請問一下C選項如何排除 ? 因為它的"注意1"的原因嗎?

一定選名詞同位子句....因為閱讀到這邊我根本不知道generalization是在鬼扯什麼...一定是用that子句進一步解釋.....
這種偏語感的東西太難解釋...這也就是為什麼莫老師叫大家唸100遍得原因...
我只能這樣和你說....看不懂的要"閳述"的用that...看得懂的要"形容"用of...
不知道這樣你能不能體會?

其實莫老師講的時候我根本聽不懂...因為這種東西沒有固定規則...
這就是英文這個語言太X了...
我只能說...當閱讀遇到一個字..好比..position..argument...assertion...這種無法讓人ㄧ眼看穿句子想講什麼的時候...而且不是三言兩語就可以形容得完...就用that...
用of的時候是前面的名詞你知道他的內涵..就像莫老師最常說的
"republic of china"....republic這個字不需要再進一步解釋....因為它的意思很明顯了..你看到會想知道是哪一個republic..而不是republic是什麼東西...內容是什麼..

沒錯，這太精闢了，大家可以參考看看prep No. 17

應該是說，如果你要講一個大家都知道，或者很簡單可以解釋清楚的，用of 接一個名詞片語，就可以簡單說明清楚。

但是如果要解釋或說明一個複雜的概念，用that帶一個子句才能解釋的比較清楚阿，畢竟，子句能夠包含的東西一定比片語多，而且比較容易解釋清楚。

怎麼看出 little 是'清楚',還是'需要解釋'?

一點小小看法，與他人的切入點不太一樣，請參考~

考點：
1、of 或 that
2、little的用法
3、different 或differences

判斷
1、of 後接一長串句子…容易造成模糊的問題，用that 可以解決 刪abc
2、little 在此為名詞，一般比較少會去接受，因為不常用。
He had little to tell us. -->此little 為名詞 (有點代名詞的味道)
因為是名詞，所以後面接of 或that 都可以 (但事實上that 會較好，因為of 之後又是個很長的句子，易無法清楚表達句意)，在此已可以刪e 了。
3、different 後接 from
differences 後接 between
本題，由於有"from" different culture ，所以要用different sth from different culsture 確定刪e

所以…little of 與改不改不可數型 (difference)並非攻擊重點，單複數皆可，看句意要如何陳述。

of + 一長串, no good
B of there being little that is significantly different
of + 一長串, no good
C of little that is significantly different
of + 一長串, no good
D that there is little that is significantly different
E that there is little of significant differences
撇開little只能接不可數, of後面一長串的句子, no good
