population changes : population 作形容詞的功能(形容詞沒有複數).
要 monitor 的是 changes 不是 population.

查了字典,當population當可數名詞使用時
解釋為a group of people or animals of a particular type that live somewhere.
題目有提到包含了250 bird species
也就是說有250 populations
所以用複數比較能確切表達
這是我個人的理解~
