想請問一下正確答案是否是經過省略後的 形式,因為在CD網上有兩種不同的 聲音
1.補全後 The gyrfalcon, an Arctic bird of prey, has survived a close brush with extinction; its numbers are now five times greater than when(its numbers were) the use of DDT was sharply restricted in the early 1970's. .但這牽涉到一個 問題省略的 原則是在主詞跟動詞時態都一樣的 情況下才可省略,難道省略部分的 動詞也是現在式嗎 ??
2.CD上有人說..than when 從屬子句事實上就than before
than anticipated類似,所以根本不存在省略問題

不好意思 小弟不是很懂 是要怎麼樣來看才能確定時間的 時態呢 ??
(看CD上討論說唯有主詞一樣跟十太一致時才能一起省略,但這題很明顯前面是現在是,若照此省略原則,則補齊不是也變成現在式嗎??)
