請教一下這樣的分數跟經歷

GMAT只有610+3.5
TOEFL PBT 623+4
工作經驗
義務役排長1.8 yr
某美商記憶體模組公司senior engineer 5 yr
推薦人:直屬老闆+日本記憶體大廠客人

這樣還有資格申請第三輪嗎??真的很怕但是很想再申請前知道一下機率
我是希望能到30~60deadline 還沒到的學校

大約是40~70名左右的學校
這樣的AT分數要進40以上有一定難度

uc 或者 cal state university.
既然要申請 40-70
那就找好一點的locaton.

I agree:

UC is an option, though I wouldn't recommend CSU.

You may also try
--top Canadian schools.
--programs in HK
--CEIBS or Cheung Kung in China
--European programs

It's better to go to a top program elsewhere than a 3rd tier school in the US

Thanks for the advices!!
I will also try to find some Canadian schools (UBC? U Toronto?..) and European schools (RSM? Imperial college?)

But I am curious which one is better for me to work aboard.(US company but expat to whereever , even India Brazil)
(rank 40~60 US schools , top Canadian schools or European schools)

By the way, I was in charge of the sub-con management and customer quality service and technical support.
And I will focus on the supply chain (outscourcing or global procurement)

I wouldn’t necessarily limit my options to non top 50 schools. In the past, many candidates who have similar backgrounds compared to yours were able to get in top 50 schools. Depending on your essays and other factors, I would say it would be a little pushy to apply top 20 schools. Nevertheless, as long as you could distinguish yourself and make favorable impressions to admission committees, I believe you still have a chance to get in top 21~50 schools.

I agree with Mark that you could probably try other non-US business schools. However, you might want to take future work location into your considerations. It is possible to get a job in the US without even going to a US college, but it would just make things harder. FYI

以下是我目前錄取的結果

Admission Status Update:

USC-Ibear (International #2) (no scholarship)
North Carolina State U (#59 US news 2009) with full scholarship and stipend( 30600 per year)
Hong Kong University (no scholarship)

這幾天要決定最後結果了,在此希望各位學長學姊提供寶貴的意見給小弟選校的參考

1. USC Ibear: 預估3kk NTD for the whole program and life expense. 唸完手邊現金所剩不多,但是考慮機會成本,還是不錯的選擇,有強大的校友(不過面試時, program director 很坦白的說去年跟今年是很艱困的兩年,很多校友再找工作時面臨很大的挑戰) ---> 未來我會以Intel Flash market 為首要目標或是去原公司美國總部找global supply chain management的工作

2.NCSU: total只要420k NTD for the two year expense. two year pure american environment to practice english and study. 二年後迎接復甦的景氣, triangle research park in 北卡, 畢業校友多是石油業或生化科技產業, 面試時admission director 說supply chain的部分都能找到不錯的工作
缺點: regonal reputation,畢業後可能只對在北卡及美國南方工作有幫助, 年輕的MBA program(business school 1992才成立,MBA校友幫助機會小)

3. HKU: Good reputation in Asia, good chance for me to change career to finance at IB? 可以去columbia 或 LBS 四個月, total program: 14 months
在此想請問香港當地MBA畢業的就業狀況跟薪資水平是如何?


對我來說都是很好的選項,但是小弟手邊的資訊實在不多需要各位先進的協助,謝謝!!

Hi,

Some thoughts:

California is a good place for your previous work experience (Asia-Pacific connection + Hi-tech industry). Alumni is a great resource for USC. I would think that if you are committed to stay in US, you will be able to get a job in California. It's just a matter of how close the job function is to your dream job.

If you are thinking about switching to IB, you need to be committed from the beginning of the school. (or even before that). I think one disadvantage for HK is that outside of banking, you really don't have other alternatives. If IB doesn't work out, you need to work harder to find somewhere else.

香港学校毕业後的薪资差距很大,主要关键在於产业以及个人背景

1.
如果进去consulting或IB 就以global pay 计算或给一个比global pay 低两成的数儿,隔年在转为associate(薪资自然也回复正常) 与美国回来的相差不大

2.
进industry的话,待在香港与中国有差异

若是香港
Pre-tax pay 一般来说range 在USD 40K~90K之间
若是大陆
Pre-tax pay 一般来说range 在USD 30K~80K之间 mean大概是45K

bonus,signing bonus以及relocation benefits另记

(我个人认为在香港念挺划算的,至少我个人是如此.当然你在面试上得展现出不输US Top 30的水平,才能在同一位子有US top30的人竞争时脱颖而出. 对我来说我,因为一直focus在我的专向,所以问题并不大. )
