"based on" shall modify "paint" rather than "scholars"

But in the orinin sentence, "based on" modifies the subject(scholars).
This is wrong modification.

回應 (A) : 此題考分詞構句. based: p.p. 表被動, 意思為 scholars are based on ... : 句意不對, i.e. 不合邏輯. 原意要表達的是 scholars based on ...; 改成分詞構句 => basing on
想請教 : 1. (B) 問題出在 it (=picture) 雖然讀起來怪怪, 但請問哪裡不對呢?
2. (E) 從 basing 換成 using 我以改變句意把它削去了, 有方法突破這個盲點嗎?

個人淺見:
1.(B)的it到底是代scholars或是paint，沒辦法清楚的判斷
2.(E)的句意似乎比較正確，因為paint base on account.....；scholars using accounts of....看起來比較正確

OG裡寫到他們wordy & awkward.....(最討厭這種解釋)
請問一下這兩句文法有錯嗎?
因為介詞片語可以當形容詞修適後面的名詞,我有感覺這兩句累贅...可是不知道問題到底在哪?

(c) with account of 似乎無此用法，另外writer是人不會用used這個分詞
(D) by accounts of 似乎也無此用法，同上，used怪

原題的accounts指的是紀錄
