我選C.....首先where子句可以獨立做附屬子句嗎?它既不是N子句當主詞用也不是adv子句修飾動詞.....如果說關係副詞那我就更不懂了....這兩個子句有共同的「地方」拿來當作先行詞嗎?所以我AB都刪掉....

再者就是考時態了....兩個子句有沒有先後時間順序....雖然我不太懂句意（還有一些生字不懂.....:-S ） 但我覺得應該有....於是D刪掉....

剩下CE判斷support需不需要動名詞結構.....我覺得不需要...於是選了C....

可是剛剛再看了一下題目.....又被after這個字搞混了....

如果說兩個子句用after當連接詞連接的話....where表原題句尾的rank......好像A又可以.....

於是我查了字典.....after在這裡應該是當介係詞吧...也就是說after 1897這個介係詞片語當副詞片語來用.....

唉說了那麼多搞不好我根本就答錯......

我想MIKE寫錯了啦....他刪掉CDE是因為while once不能同時出現所以才刪掉那三個選項......

跟大家報告一下我昨天有拿此題去問老莫了.....他看完就先劈了我一頓...他說「這個題目是二三十年前的了.....叫我不要太相信機經網站上的題目會害死我.....現在根本就不會出這種了.....」以上是轉述他的講法..

所以我想提出討論說是不是有必要多做那些題目...因為昨天又熊熊看到熊妹已經要review OG第四次了........也許在複習SC題目的安排上大家不知道是不是有一些範圍可以提供給大家參考??

例如我現在重點放在OG跟GWD還有考古題上....再配上老莫出的那本修辭寶典什麼的.....

對了重點還是在閱讀.....閱讀能力不好的話什麼都沒用....:'(

好了離題太遠.....先講一下老莫怎麼解這題.....

考點在於：
(a)where關代副詞代替its ranks
(b)時態after 1897表示前後子句中的動作有時間上的差異...而未畫線的部分用過去式（後發生）...因此畫線部分要用過去完成式（先發生）......

首先在這邊once做副詞「以前」（formerly）解....

接著原題可能這樣看比較清楚....看看大家是不是有能力可以把它拆成兩個獨立句子能顯示出兩個句子的交集在於ranks（做陣營解---老莫翻的）....
