其實這題只是簡單的想考比較要同類吧...
至於你說的even可不可代a...
這裡把a去掉是因為significance是不可數名詞的關係...
跟even無關...

不過我覺得D的時態怪怪...
不過好像也只能選他...

我覺得最後面的do應該改成could吧...

比較是從could後才切開
could have A than have B
而第二次的have用do來代

可否解釋一下這一題的平行節構?
大衛是說平行的是 "HAVE even greater significance for the economy" 跟 "DO the particulars of the plan"
那C跟E的 than HAVE 有錯嗎?
其實我對這種平行結構,要不要加DO, COULD, HAVE,都搞不清楚,加哪一個我也不太會選
像OG 129我也搞不懂do 跟 have的差別

這題比的是 The guiding principles 跟 the particulars
如果像A&B 只有 than 會變化 economy 跟 particulars 在比較
C&E 的 than have, 不是中文裡的 have=有, 而會會成分詞的型式
只有D的 DO 是比較 The guiding principles 跟 the particulars, in the manners of having significance for the economy

如果像A&B 只有 than 會變化 economy 跟 particulars 在比較
C&E 的 than have, 不是中文裡的 have=有, 而會會成分詞的型式

恩 這一題是在比較The guiding principles of the tax plan 跟 the particulars 沒錯

大家會困擾的是than之後那個do/have怎解?
那個(D) ....than do do是助動詞 代替原來動詞have 所以have不選

原句還原一下
...than the particulars of the plan have significance for the economy. 畫線部分與前面重複 囉唆 老莫的說法是 舊資訊省略 只留新資訊在句尾 所以畫線部分全部用助動詞do 代替 然後助動詞do再往前移 移到連接詞than之後

形成 連接詞+助動詞+S 的省略句

所以have都不選 因為這裡是省略句 只能使用助動詞
have是一般動詞

頂! 我只能說這題太酷了!
這邊的have不是助動詞 而是一般動詞
而一般動詞省略則用do替代
則還原則為 S1 could have...than S2 have....→ have 重覆 因而省略改do
(推測語氣 比較 直述語氣)

而than前面的could表推測
如果答案有..than could也對!
則還原為 S1 could have...than S2 could have...→ could V重覆 因而省略保留could
(推測語氣 比較 推測語氣)
