Capuchin monkeys often rub their bodies with a certain type of millipede. Laboratory tests show that secretions from the bodies of these millipedes are rich in two chemicals that are potent mosquito repellents, and mosquitoes carry parasites that debilitate capuchins. Answer C 的中文解釋可翻譯一下嗎 ? 我的理解是 capuchin monkey 除了在雨季, 蚊子的盛產期外, 很少用身體磨擦 millipedes...而科學家假設的是猴子摩擦 millipedes 是要保護自己遠離蚊子的叮咬...answer C 有 support 的意思

但 choice E, 說明在 millipedes 上的兩種化學物質對人是致癌物質但對猴子不是....???? 不覺的有 support 吶..... *-)

我簡單描述一下:
題目是要去支持說科學家說那些猴子抓身體是為了保護自己..
原文說因為蚊子有病,所以猴子要抓身體避免被染病..
C:在雨季高峰期,蚊子多多,所以猴子會去抓身體.平常不常抓..
(暗示猴子抓身題就是為了保護自己避免被蚊子染病哩..有保護自己的意思)

不好意思,,小弟剛進來研讀,,不是很了解,,我也是選c,,,

但題目一開始就有一個前題(事實)..

Capuchin monkeys often rub their bodies......

因為有often,那答案c, 一開始講 The capuchins rarely 不就和前題相矛盾 ?

所以,,我又想e的答案,,因為millipede對capuchin沒有毒,所以才可以拿來摩擦,

因為如果有毒的話,capuchin拿來一擦不就中毒死蹺蹺??

請賜教!!!

你誤會often, rarely了，他們二個很無辜

題目及選項都要看完哩，只看一點選答案，很恐怖的！

often......with...，with後面接的東西才是often rub的條件，跟C的rarely 一點都不衝突喔！

大致上有一點點頭緒了,,但您說的那個點,我有點抓不太到...

題目說: Capuchin常常用某一種馬陸來摩擦他們的身體.

答案C:除了雨季(蚊子數量為最高峰的時候)外,Capuchin很少用馬陸來摩擦他們的身體,

我的感覺是:題目說Capuchin常常用馬陸來摩擦(一年到頭),但答案C卻說除了雨季(就變成一年之中只有某時段有)外,其它時間很少用馬陸來摩擦...這樣不就很奇怪?

還是..我那邉出了什麼問題??

(因為最開始我的答案沒有更新,所以我自己花了不少的時間來說服自己答案為e,但現在答案為C,我便無法再說服自己回去了!! ;-S

)

同學啊，問題就出來啦…第一句不是說一年到頭都用millipede來rub，而是猴子摩擦身體「通常」是用millipede（即有時候可能摩擦樹技解癢），但絕大部份是用millipede，不是一年到頭都在rub喔！

希望有解答到你的疑問
