The proportion of free oleic acid that an olive oil contains is an accurate measure of the oil’s acidity.

未煉過橄欄油的品質實際上不是defines in terms of acidity,然而經過extensive tests
表現出越少的free oleic acid that unrefined olive oils have per liter, 他的品質就越好
Free oleic acid的比例是一個accurate measure of the oil’s acidity.
A. when an olive oil is refined….文章沒有提到oil refined
B. The quality of an unrefined olive oil can be determined only by accurately measuring its acidity
文章並沒有提共説品質是only by acidity
C. If an unrefined olive oil is intermediate in acidity between two other unrefined olive oils, it will also be intermediate between them in quality.
我認為正確的
Intermediate in acidity 就代表 intermediate in quality
因為多少比例的 free oleic acid才是影響品質
free oleic acid 也會影響oil’s acidity
但並不是由acidity去影響品質(這是第一句話想說明的)
oleic acid (affect)acidity最終也會(affect)品質
所以acidity的多少就是指他的品質
D. Free oleic acid is the only acid that unrefined olive oil contains
文章並沒有support說 free oleic acid 是only的acid that 橄欄油contain
E. People who judge the quality of unrefined olive oils actually judge those oils by their acidity, which the judges can taste.
文章並沒有提到judges can taste

另外這是某大陸牛寫的推論....他的答案是A .....供大家參考

原文最後一句話說橄欖油中含的游離酸的比例(含量)是油酸酸度的精確測量。實際意思就是游離酸的濃度可以精確的反映其酸度,即兩者相等。
二。覺得那個選項都理由不充足,但傾向A選項,理由如下:
原文三句話:1。實際上,未提煉橄欖油的質量不由酸性來定義
2。但是,大量試驗顯示,未提煉橄欖油的游離油酸越少,質量越好
3。(提煉後)橄欖油的游離油酸等同於橄欖有的酸性(只有游離油酸,沒有其他酸)
推理的結論:4。由1和2可推出未提煉橄欖油的游離油酸不等同於其酸性,即還有其他酸。
5。由3和4可推出提煉的過程中,其他酸被去掉。
6。在去掉其他酸的過程中,游離油酸也會相應去掉一些(去酸的過程經常是中和的過程,各種酸都要相應去掉一些)。而且由2可知游離油酸對橄欖油來說,不是好東西,能去掉多少便去掉多少。總上兩點,提煉過程中,游離油酸會相應減少。即A(CONCENTRATION指濃度)
B錯。理由是違反1。
C錯。理由是由4知未提煉橄欖油中還有其他酸,而酸性取決於游離油酸和其他酸。質量卻只和游離油酸有關(或者準確說原文沒說出關係)。所以沒法比較酸性和質量的相對關係
D錯。理由是違反4。
E錯。原文根本就沒這方面的資訊

我大概錯了 orz :'(
最後一句提煉後我把它看成就是olive oil 本身性質
不過大牛解釋的好復雜喔(不虧是大牛)

這題實在大家的意見不一致...
比如說:另外一各770大牛的答案也是C......

我覺得這題答案若是A.....推理實在太複雜.....
答案C....看起來比較人性化一點 :P

不過當然是沒有這樣解題的啦~~~

只希望大家一起來多討論!

我選A,其實A蠻直接的啊,只是不知道unrefined 是否就代表 low quality??
C.If an unrefined olive oil is intermediate in acidity between two other unrefined olive oils, it will also be intermediate between them in quality.
我覺得acidity 應改成the proportion of free oleic acid 較好
畢竟文一開始說了The quality of unrefined olive oil is not actually defined in terms of acidity品質不是和acidity有關,而yet後面說明了理由是和free oleic acid 有關,但最後一句卻說了the proportion of free oleic acid 是測量 acidity的準確方法,卻又讓the proportion of free oleic acid 約略相等於acidity
又感覺C也說得通 @@@

我認為 A 有點文不對題。題目從頭到尾都在講如何決定 unrefined olive oil 的品質,怎麼 A 選項卻說 refined 之後的品質,這樣不符合 ETS 給答案的精神吧。

Since this is a "conclusion" question

you can't put no-mentioned information into the conclusion.

Thus, "A" is not a good choice

有沒有人選D,因為文章最後一句說The proportion of free oleic acid that an olive oil contains is an accurate measure of the oil’s acidity。
如果有其它acid的話,就不會accurate了吧。

至於選項C,文章說the less...,the higher,只說明了兩者是正相關,並沒說是完全正相關,less很多而higher一點也是有可能的,所以選項C本身 就是個argument,做為support是ok的,不過不適合做為結論吧
印象中OG的infer題中,選項本身就是推論的,好像沒對過

請各位牛牛指教 :laugh

以下小小意見,
我不選A的原因是:既然unrefined oil中oleic acid含量不一定,refined oil中oleic acid含量也不見得會減少,也許會維持也不一定
