what 的出現剛好同時滿足上述兩個的需求

as順便兼職做個受格代替前面的sales...
但沒想到還是被what打敗了...
唉...小的本來想說what=the things that=that which
就以為C跟E是同一國的..

我剩 C、E 決選時，因為 C 有 there was 前後不太一致 且 that which = what （比較簡潔一點），所以能選到 E

不過，我對於 E 的 what 真的很有問題：

因為 (D) 後半段這個句子 sales of fund shares in July were not as (adv.) low as (conj. ＝準關代 + 不完整子句) an industry trade group (S.) had previously estimated (V.).
我覺得很好啊∼沒有錯！！ 但因為 D 前面少了other 所以不能選。

不過 E. than in any other month since October 1987, sales of fund shares in July were not as low as what an industry trade group had previously estimated.

依 as ... as 比較句的文法來看是不正確的，我只好硬套
sales of fund shares in July (N.=S) were (等號）what an industry trade group had previously estimated. (N. cl.= S.C)
不過這樣講真的很牽強，因為 as low as 插進去之後，使得後半的辭性都不對啦∼∼

將 sales of fund shares 變成 those 後面繼續接，到最後were (舊資訊) 也省略，所以 those which 就變成了 what
剛好順便回答了 guhuo 的問題，that 不行 those 也不行，除非用 those which 就對啦，不過還是 what 最簡潔！！！

這裡的than 是當expect 的受詞
也就是如同本題as準關代的用法
所以我認為這題選項E有what真的很奇怪!

底下這二種用法應該是一樣的,只差N要不要省略而已
1.as adj/adv as + N +形容詞子句
2.as adj/adv as +不完整的形容詞子句


選項C是採第一種用法,不過它前半部的there was太多餘,後半部的that應該改成those
選項D是採第二種用法,不過它前半部少了個other
選項E是採第一種用法,將those which簡化為what-->最理想

另外,as low as those an industry trade group had previously estimated 的用法
在一般文法書中並沒有錯,因為關代作受詞時可以省略,但GMAT中似乎不允許這樣的省略

我記得莫杯杯上課時有提過as ~ as及 ~ than可以當主格或受格關代
例如OG11-30
An inventory equal to 90 days sales is as much as even the strongest businesses carry, ....
的as much as的第二個as就當受格(=inventory)
所以我覺得GWD這題的D是錯在沒有排外-other
