這有個圖 但是我沒辦法畫出來 但我把文字打出來 希望有人可以幫我
The shaded protion of the rectangular lot shown above represents a flower bed. I the area of the bed is 24 spare yard and x=y+2 then z equals

shaded portion 是個三角形 是rectangular的一角 所以是直角三角形
而高是x yards 底是y yards 斜邊是 x yrds

我不懂這提要怎麼算 希望有人可以幫我解答 謝謝[/img]

這一題之前我也卡了一下。後來發現是句意誤解的問題。
The area of the bed is 24 square yard ....
是指三角形的陰影區域...而不是指 flower bed ...
所以三角形面積為 1/2x底x高 = 1/2xy = 1/2 (y+2) y = 24

雖然我還是覺得題目寫得怪怪的的..但用解答來解是這樣...
