會造成動物族群減少的原因有兩個
一個是缺少食物一各是人類的獵殺
缺少食物的話...動物會比較晚熟
人類獵殺的話...動物則會比較早熟
所以應該有各方法可以知道某種動物的滅絕是為什麼
因為有動物族群減少前後的化石
並且可以從化石殘骸中推得動物成熟的年紀

如果可以推得動物成熟的年紀那麼我們當然就可以知道
動物是為什麼滅亡
晚熟的....缺食物
早熟的...被人類獵殺

it means that there are many fossiles remain, some existed in before the mastodon declined, while others existed after the declined. if so, and you also can get the idea about when they die, that will make sense.

答案B沒有問題
可是A講到數量的變化，是不是也可以作為分辨缺食物還是被獵殺的原因?
因為提早reproduce --> 數量上升
延後reproduce --> 數量下降

不過A只有說在生物數量減少前的化石保存較多沒有提到如何由化石去看出他是為了什麼原因減少的

各位大大,我想請問一下,B比C好的原因,

是不是因為C的語氣較為強烈

it can be "accurately estimated" from fossilized remains,

而B.the "average age" at which .... 較為合適

還是還有其他原因?

如果缺食物的話達到繁殖的年紀 later than otherwise
otherwise=如果不缺食物的話

應該是這樣子吧...最近腦殘哀
