選(E)硬梆梆比較

補充 (E) 是個分詞片語 those (which) charge
關係代名詞取消 charge主動改ing

本題小弟數月前曾用力贊同E
但看了第十一版後
what is understood可省略
平衡為優先領導原則
幾倍不管as many as慣用ABC不選
句意是要用學校比學校
收低於8千一年的學校是收一萬六一年的學校的3倍
應該是3 times as many as institutons charge...as "institutions" charge...
"institutions" is understood可省
D: as charge平衡
E those 指institutions "which is understood"應該省略
charging破壞平衡
D平衡優先故選豬

如果選E的話，將省略的部分補上後有可能變成independent institutions (of higher education)charge tuition and fees of under $8,000 a year 跟those (=independent institutions)(charging over $16,000)charge tuition and fees of under $8,000 a year 比較，後者意思變的奇怪

如果選D則沒有這個問題~
independent institutions of higher education charge tuition and fees of under $8,000 a year 跟(independent institutions of higher education) charge over $16,000 (a year) 比較
