我想句意應該是水庫的水跟H湖一樣多
而不是跟H湖的水庫一樣多

剛剛查了字典
大概是這樣的...

Trade should balance when supply equals(v.) demand.
A pound is roughly equal to(Adj.) 500 grams.
看起來好像都是equal
但是形容詞和動詞卻有著不一樣的用法
形容詞有be動詞可以加to
動詞則不行

由此可知:
(a)which equal Lake Huron -->equal當V
(b)which equal Lake Huron's-->equal當V
(c)equal to Lake Huron's -->equal當Adj, 省略關代和be動詞
(d)the equivalent of Lake Huron's
(e)the equivalent of Lake Huron
看起來equal用法沒錯
感覺更難抓錯了
所以接下來就是所有格的問題...

正因為水不可數

我有幾個問題，希望能對解題有幫助

１. the equivalent的意思是"等量"，Lake Huron是湖 the equivalent of Lake Huron怎麼會變成" Lake Huron等量的水"？　"水"從哪來？

2. 如果the equivalent of Lake Huron's是雙重所有格，那麼 the equivalent of the water of Lake Huron是否也有雙重所有格的問題？

3. Ten thousand people a year die of the diesease--that's the equivalent of (the population of) this town.　此處the equivalent是否可以作"等量人口"解而省略(the population of)？
Jane can lift 321 pounds, the equivalent of her weight.
Jane can lift 321 pounds, the equivalent of her. 何者正確？
