這題我用解題的方法如下

先看句意
1)Despite....are...,...many travelers still......
此句為事實,所以用will 刪去BDE
我是有點當成假設語氣在看
不知道對不對
2)C有prefer 又有compared to 不選
所以A最好
3) growing number of people who purchase 明顯是指people購買
growing number of people purchasing不知道是people還是growing number購買

請問一下people who purchase...和people purchasing哪一個對啊!

the fact that 莫背背說永遠不選原因不是他有錯
而是以修辭角度看累贅
（當然我們不能說這個東西100％不選，如果有一題句意在講那個XXX的事實就是....，也許就會用the fact that，只不過99.9％的題目這個原則很具參考性，畢竟解題有時間限制，the fact that出現至少可以暫時跳過）
以本題來看，the fact that真的是累贅，因為直接說就好不需要用一個子句！
我是A、B選一個，不太清楚that位置在A、B中是否有誤，
選A是因為convince，既然確信就不應該有假設成分在裡面
莫背背有一個講法個人覺得不錯，有if不表示一定是假設，沒有if也不表示一定不是假設，
其實我們在OG裡面就有幾題這樣！
假設這題不用convince而用suppose、guess、presume之類的字眼，我想我可能選B！
個人小小看法，參考囉！！

這裡我認為用 the fact that the number of peoplpe is growing會比用 the growing number更為清楚的表達原句的意思,因為 airline executives是被這樣的一個fact說服.

如果用the growing nubmer,growing當成形容詞修飾number則句意會變成-公司的高階主管被說服...儘管成長的上網買票數字.然而讀到這裡,覺得怪怪,因為前後的關係並不100% match

如果用the fact that...則句意是-公司的高階主管被說服...儘管上網買票的人數成長是事實,這裡我認為 the number is growing與the growing number更能清楚的表達說服executive的是數字成長的這件事,而不是成長的數字

我本來看到the fact that 也是略過,但是在讀了A之後覺得不對,回頭看到D因而有這樣的想法,因為在英文修辭中,清楚永遠比簡潔重要,所以我就給他選下去啦

此外,有朋友提到,假設語氣的問題,convince並沒有不能與假設語氣和用的問題吧?你雖然被說服,但是事情會不會發生,應該不是可以確定的,更何況這句話是由一個第三者的角度敘述airline executives被convince的事,看來是和現在的事實相反的,用would反而更好

我覺得前面提個幾個點,並不是非常強烈可以排除D,不知道大家覺得如何,請提供一點意見

D還是wordy, 我不認為A 有什麼句意清不清楚的問題，同樣很清楚的說明一個事實一個現象，不會不用the fact that 就不清楚了，相對來說，用adj就可以表達的句意，還用一個子句來表達，太過wordy

第二個as在句子中的作用是？還有prefer....to這個idiom中的to在那�？是compared to的to 嗎？如果是這樣，那compared to的to在那�？更別說prefer...as compared to這個怪異的idiom了

但是convince並不是信服,深信,而是使信服,使明白,意即是別的人事物說服了這些executives,樓上同學翻「 信服、深信」，我認為是錯誤的！

would則使用來表示可能性較小,這裡是不是一個錯點,看看 大家還有沒有其他意見

另外the growing number = the number is growing嗎?我嘗試用一個簡單的句子解釋我的想法
Please explain why the number is growing.　請解釋為什麼這數字正在成長?　
Please explain the growing number. 　請解釋這個成長的數字?

這兩句話並不完全相同吧?基本上當單字可以清楚表達意義時然比子句好,但是如果兩者意義不同時,何者清楚就 很重要 了

雖然the number is growing 和 the growing number是有不同的，但就本題而言，這二者都可以清楚完整表達原句意想要表達的意思！因此我想是沒有問題的，D有其他更明顯的錯誤
