[Ajinaruto]

For what percent of those tested for a certain infection was the test accurate;that is,positive for those who had the infection and negative for those who did not have the infection?

(1) Of yhose who tested positive for the infection,1/8 did not have the infection.
(2) Of those tested for the infection,90 percent tested negative.

如題,題意有點給他看不懂,我選A.

題目是想求某測試的準確率百分比
即陽性反應的人裡有多少人真的受感染, 陰性反應的人裡有多少人沒被感染
(兩者應該要合起來看)

(1)和(2)分別只講了上述個別的比率 但兩種比率之間的比例卻沒交代
也就是不知道陽性反應：陰性反應的人為多少
無法得知總共的準確率 所以是(E)

我想我了解題意了,也就是說他要的是整體的準確率
答案即使1+2合併來看也得不出來陰性跟陽性各佔整體的多少比率,
所以是E.
我這樣理解對嗎?

你可以自己畫方陣圖自己解解看,
看有幾個條件是闕如的.
其實這裡只要再給我們
1. 全體測試人數
2. 陰性測對或陰性測錯或陰性對錯之間的人數比
這兩個條件,就可以解出了.

可以這樣分析
1. 陽性反應 => 正確檢測出來 positive
2. 陽性反應 => 未能檢測出來 false positive
3. 陰性反應 => 正確檢測出來 negative
4. 陰性反應 => 未能檢測出來 false negative
四個部份.

(1) Of those who tested positive for the infection,1/8 did not have the infection. <== 屬於false positive, 有1/8, 但不知道false negtive有多少. 且也不知道positve+false positive佔整體是多少?

(2) Of those tested for the infection,90 percent tested negative. <== 90%被檢測是negtive, 無false negative的比例.

合併, 還是不知道false negative佔多少比例? E
