我覺得D之所以會錯
有兩個地方
一是 with 的用法不好
二是 although 的語意

大家可以留意一下
E 是說(雖然)綠綠條條(意味不紅不圓不討喜)又有腫塊和瘀青
但是 卻非常好吃喔

D 的雖然但是的位置 剛好相反
語意就不好啦

試著解解看
abc最大的問題是, often green and...這邊究竟是修是誰呢
修飾前面那句,還是後面那句

用d 或者 e的方式就很清楚
用";"來避開像abc可能導致的ambiguity,十分清晰易懂

我覺得they到不至於造成歧意
因為前一句的主詞就是Heirloom tomatoes
代名詞優先代替原體主詞

還有,選項是比較出來的
在abc相對不好之下,只好從de中挑一個嚕

這題我選(E)，我覺得它考的是Logical predication + Idiom。

首先就Logical predication的部分，就前後文來看，我覺得既然有their "round and red" supermarket cousins這一段話，round and red已經用來形容cousins，可知green and striped應該用來形容Heirloom tomatoes，因此(A)(B)(C)可以直接排除。

再來就Idiom的部分，OG(11th)9的(C)選項解釋中明確說到Although typically introduces a subordinate clause, which has a subject and a verb，因此(D)也可以被排除。

我支持A 就句意來看,often green and striped 感覺只是當插入修飾作用的,並非主軸句意
但是E卻在分號後用主要句子去強調,而且E後面的but they are 跟A後面的省略主詞比起來真的蠻累贅的,再來就是they指代不清的問題了

顏色的資訊明明該是放在一起進行比較，用；區隔文氣整個就斷掉了

第一次我也選(A)
後來.... 對(A) 有個小小疑問，就是...

often green and striped 和 have plenty of bumps and bruises這兩個都是修飾heirloom tomatoes，說它們賣相差......
如果選了(A) look less......than.... or have.....and.....結構平行了，會不會內容不平行押?

而(E)的選項 are offten green and striped.... or have plenty of bumps and bruises......看上去好像結構平行...這樣想不知有沒有不適當之處呢?

(所以後來有點開始往(E)的方向走去...怎麼辦... 來個人把我打昏算了 =="... 讓我忘記曾經有做過這一題)

D老大! 請問分詞在哪邊呢? 我怎麼找不到?

這提我挺(E)啦! 因為often green and striped這邊會修飾到cousins，所以歧義。
用分號格開雖然麻煩，但是確較為清楚。至於DE兩個選哪個呢? although放句尾不選
以及A but B,重點在B，原句重點應該強調"醜番茄確很甜"所以這句話不能放在although字句裡弱化，應該用but才對。
A的but也要補出they，才不會頭重腳輕。E在這裡補出they更加符合語氣強調重點→ 就是甜滋滋啦!!。
