不過的的問題主要是為什麼是 helping 而不是help
前面不是有could 連接propel and help 我有理解錯誤嗎>?<

我說的GWD13-6，即為以下的題目，
CD中，有人說，由於答案A中有tested，關代前不能有動詞、介詞插入，所以A為修飾誤置。而且A中的that可以代 a new type 也可以代jet engine 又可以代a new type of jet engine 。
(照David您說的95%帶前面a new type，不過主要要看句意。這個我無法做判別耶~因為我覺得that代jet engine也可以說的通，代a new type of engine也可以說的通阿？？)因此有人認為答案為E
不過我覺得E中could和have the capability 為redundancy，不好。不過E中的it，代原題主詞 a new type卻很清楚。

請問您碰到類似的問題，您是怎樣解題的呢？

that 可以帶到最前面的主詞都沒問題
只要不要代錯就行了
沒有前不能放動詞這條規則
尤其看第十一版前十題就有講到
這裡講一個jet engine的一種type
不知道是什麼type 主軸意義不完整
必須用that做"限定補述"
如果用which即使是沒有逗號一樣算"非"限定用法--會錯
這應該是關代用法的精華-that有限定用法,當主軸意義不完整時必須限定補述使意義完整

另外這裡是coherence主軸一貫概念
這條只要多研究歐機會發現極為重要好用
而且應該是高分關鍵
DE的it都是主詞重複
歐機會跟你講這是違反基本grammer constructure
另外語句無謂轉折謬誤+主軸一分為二
共會產生三種錯誤

B have the capability...wordy,unidomatic
後面or to help跟前面propel不平衡

c. tested後逗號逗號插入句可拿掉
主軸結構意義破壞
or不知跟誰接也違反coherence

A that補述意義完整
propel...or help平衡
主軸意義完整一貫

還有一種判斷方法
第十版歐基200題以後常常出現
動作比狀態direct
因此看到propel跟have the capability...
前者動作比後者狀態直接
後者不選

小弟做這題時另外有個技巧可以很快
但必須用句意解題

前面主軸意義不完整時
必用that限定補述
cde根本不用看
AB一比 a動作大於b狀態
b的or後面又有to不平衡
選a可以只要20秒

gwd很多這種題形
小弟當時在做就是都用這招一路殺到底
幾乎不會錯
但是反而忘了整理歐基其他題形
idomatic是才是關鍵

維尼兄的意思是說A對
因為 A的that 直接代到前面的引擎不會去代到tested

基本上我這題拿到的答案不知道為什麼是 E
我左看又看都是A對多美阿你們看看 could後面兩動詞 peopel跟have呈現原形用 or連接詞平衡
句意上 " 則可以推進.. 或是(則可以)幫助cargoes暴走..."

E很怪引擎"could eventually have the capability to " +V.....

這句最討厭 redundency的很跟我們台灣人.....歐不 (其實是我自己啦這樣一罵罵到一堆人 )寫英文作文很像插字加字為了湊字數XD

阿引擎就可以propel(推進)直說可以就好 could是弱的"可以" 代表有機會但是不是一定後面又加上有能力去blablabla

阿一個could就夠了的東西幹麼還多字贅字套句老莫的話 "魯一當登係"
這種呼係的答案不選!

老莫說
"B,E贅字 C,D不平衡答案A"
最有趣的是老師還強調" 我沒說過這題答案是E阿誰說的 "

今天中場下課去問的下週開始某大補習班(為免廣告嫌疑)要開專題班會用真題教學所以這題大概還會再提到到時候大家可以看看老師有沒有又change his mind :P

符合美國人用法以及莫大師最愛重點(由輕到重!!!) 可能他解題的時候忘記跟大家講

這題原句應該是這樣：

that could eventually propel aircraft anywhere in the world within two hours or help boost
cargoes into space at significantly lower costs than current methods permit is being tested.
That子句修飾 engine
可是一旦這樣寫句子會有什麼樣的問題發生？
無關文法純粹是美國人最討厭的由重到輕！！！
所以只有把that修飾子句整個拿到最後面去才可以避免因此推得原題答案A
有人質疑為啥tested動詞後面接that 其實這只是句子變形而已！
