1. 為什麼要用過去完成式啊?
2. (C) such a number had dropped 錯在哪裡呢??

1) 文法概念: by + now: present perfect
by + past time: past perfect
by + future time: future perfect

這裡發生時間是在1800,所以可以用 past perfect

2) 有關 such a number,應該是比較unidiomatic. 記的OG有一題有考這樣的概念 (不好意思....我現在忘記是哪一題). B)的this figure清楚代 average number of children born.

還是因為這兩句話有用";"隔開？

不會壓!因為中間有個分號表示是兩個不同的句子
再加上經濟大蕭條應該發生在1929-1934要是我沒記錯的話
