關於Maryland的Interview Invitation

各位前輩好

小弟今年要申請美國MBA，在去年12月份去參加MBA Tour，參觀了
Maryland的攤位，當時與學校代表聊了一下，談話結束前學校代表跟我要
了Resume，由於忘記帶，所以只留下我的聯絡方式，過了大約2週之後，
收到學校的E-mail說"他們即將在2月到台灣根打算申請他們學校的
applicants做面試，共有20個名額，如果我想要得到面試機會的話，必須
在1/15以前送出申請資料，這樣他們願意將我列在20人的名單中"，不知這樣的mail是具有價值的嗎?學校真的會以在收到申請者的資料前就發申請通
知嗎?

當時跟學校代表有談到我的背景，我列在下方，請各位大大給予建議

1. GPA:3.2/3.78
2. 托福:250
3. AT當時還沒考，沒說，實際成績550
4.W/E:8.5(including 2 years military)/4 years as a department
manager
5.工作領域:物流、電子商務、供應鏈資訊顧問服務公司

以下是學校的mail內容。

Dear Shun Chih,

The Robert H. Smith School of Business will be coming back to Taiwan in February of 2006 to conduct applicant interviews. We will have approximately 20 interview slots available and would like to extend to you an invitation for a personal interview with an admissions representative. However, in order to be considered for an interview, the Smith School must received your completed application by January 15, 2006. (Interviews in the spring are by invitation. Invitations are extended after a preliminary review of a complete file.)

Please take the next few weeks to finish your application (if you have not already done so.) You can access the online application at http://www.rhsmith.umd.edu/fullmba/applications.html

那這封信的意義到底是什麼?

是要你去申請賺報名費還是申請人數不足，想擴大招生人數?
另外這樣的面試算是正式的嗎?

有朋友說學校應該不至於會亂槍打鳥，但又覺得真的會去留下資料的應該沒

基本上我只在考試時寄成績過去(而且分數不高)

就收到這封信了

感覺跟UCIrvine的信有異曲同工之妙

就是狂發信件給我最想成為的高分牛人(說有機會給獎學金)

要他們去申請當然這是一種行銷的手法

也不要對這種信有過多的幻想即可還是針對自己的興趣去選擇學校吧

要他們去申請當然這是一種行銷的手法

也不要對這種信有過多的幻想即可還是針對自己的興趣去選擇學校吧

Maryland的確是我想去的學校，不過就如你所言，不要對這種信有過多的
幻想，順其自然

Dreamer兄應該是沒問題的，俗話說有夢最美，希望相隨，一起加油吧

我覺得maryland是滿溫暖的學校.它在聖誕節還送電子賀卡給我.
雖然知道這是他的行銷手法, 但是也只有他一家這麼做. 其他學校都沒理我. 所以還是覺得滿感動的.

基本上這是學校提醒deadline快到的一種方式
我前一輪截止前幾天就收過一次，丟出去之後，這一輪快截止時又收了一次
