Hi, I would like to share how I made my decision with you guys. Besides UCSD, I also applied for other top 30 B-schools and was offered admissions by several of them. When I just got the admission from the Rady School, I reached a college professor for information. He's the one who suggested me to apply for this program. As a professor of the business school and a Stanford Ph.D in Financial Engineering, he goes back to Standford, lecturing summer classes every year. I assume he knows what's going on in California.>_<
Get back to what he told me that day. He gave me several reasons to choose UCSD rather than other schools:
1) The perfect location
2) Good weather
3) It has a UC umbrella
4) It's famous for its economics department and its school of international relations( I'm not sure if I get the name of the school correct). Economics is the core of business and it has strong finance courses in the school of international relations. I later checked the website and found there're two professors in Economics department won the Nobel Prize and it seems that we had a chance to join the seminar lectured by one of these Nobel winners.
5) It has a very good Dean, who led University of North Carolina to become a well-known B-school.
6) San Diego has high-tech and business districts.
7) Lots of European tourists will keep the area growing and make students easy to find a part-time job.
8) The school embraces high educational reputation. Lots of textbooks're from faculties of UCSD.
9) We'll be treated very well as we are the inaugural students of the program. It's a great chance to be part of it and the school will have our name on the tomb. >_<
10) He said only if I got admitted to Harvard, I can just go for USCD without a boudt.
After our discussion, he invited me to be a guest speaker in one of his classes. The professor asked me to spend quite a bit time to talk about the program. When I showed the website of the Rady School on the monitor, we saw a picture of our Dean, Mr. Sullivan. My professor even said, "Look at his smile, he's so happy to be in one of the most beautiful cities in the world." Through his information and my further investigation, my concerns to choose a program in its very first year was relieved. I made a decision to choose Rady school and ready to build up the program with you guys!!
