Personal thought...
a global ranking....even a little bit strange for some schools....
obviously....not a US ranking...
but roughly fair....for the majority....
Top tier......i will suggest combining three rankings....
Businessweek or USNews top 20 or FT top 30

Ceibs ranks super-high in "salary increase after 3 yrs graduation" and that makes the ranking high. It is the truth that graduates from this school benefit a lot from the GDP growth of China, especially Shanghai city!!

btw, the salary is adjusted through "PPP,"(purchasing power per person or something~~) and that's the reason you see "130K" USD in its "avg annual salary after graduation" column.

Well.... the real annual salary is about 35K~40K USD, but it is still a huge progress, already beats NTU, NCCU in a huge level.

As for other Asian schools, CUHK drops from the global 100 as I estimated, and HKUST remains its fourty something position as I estimated too. As for the school I'm going join-- HKU, the school will finally take part in the FT survey this yr (because FT require every evaluated program has at least 5 yrs history), and I am convinced that HKU will have a position ( I guess the ranking will be around 40 to 60) in the 2007 ranking.

各位看倌看榜其實排名本身不重要後面的methodology才是有趣之處

為什麼Ceibs搶到21名關鍵就在於下面這個指標
Salary percentage increase (20) The percentage increase in salary from the beginning of the MBA to three years after graduation. The figure is a weighted average of the increases from the 2004, 2005 and 2006 surveys.

(佔了兩成!!)

還有這個指標

Weighted Salary (20) The average ‘salary today’ with adjustment for salary variations between industry sectors. The figure is a weighted average of salaries three years after graduation from the 2004, 2005 and 2006 surveys and is in US dollars.

(意思就是中歐那個依照PPP調整之後平均十三萬多USD的年薪!!)

此二指標中歐都達到世界級的水平前者絕對是Top10 後者也有Top15 (廢話因為凱落格都才十二萬九天殺的中歐十三萬多耶@@ ) 光這佔了四成分數的兩大指標就拿下前十幾名了各位看倌您說說這不拿21名還像話嗎

還有....畢業就業率高達98%也是一個小有力指數

再加上salary increase 154% (等於就是10000圓薪水的人變成25400)

唉...... FT的排法很重視的項目中歐都有了幾乎不敗的基石 (上海就是年年經濟成長破10%是要怎樣@@ )
未來亞洲(以及其他強力發展中的新興市場像是印度)有這潛力的學校一定會再多所以FT榜的methodology不變的話之後將會很有意思呵呵

不知道FT EMBA排名的salary是不是也是經過PPP調整？

這期商週報導FT的排名，完全沒提到這個排名背後的methodology，
要不是之前看到modern大哥的介紹，還真的會嚇一跳......

乖那些鳥雜誌不要看太多學他們吵新聞吵題材亂搞亂鬧博取注意力倒是可以畢竟那也是強力行銷的一個模式絕大多數人的眼睛 "不"是雪亮的而是被媒體影響的 :P

EMBA的記名法應該是MBA一樣不過入圍學校多屬歐美學校應該無須PPP調整才對至於大肆炒作的UST-Kellogg program
他們畢業生光是薪資排名第一這一點就足夠他排在全球第二名了 (但仔細看他入學學生都是那些原本就已經賺翻的好朋友俱樂部駐港外資IB高階主管之類的白人鬼大學就唸史丹X 哈X 耶X之類的大白人鬼這些人就算不唸書也是牛鬼進去再當一次好朋友這program自然能穩上寶座)

我承認我從小到大都超愛看這些雜誌天下遠見商周金週財訓翻爛了老一點就看看BW頭條 FT頭條但是從以往的吞吞吞純看純吸收到現在會去反芻很好玩這是個學習的過程而網路幫助了很多因為它讓我更能立即的查詢資訊找起資料方便多了

我真正很推薦看的是數位時代這本真的好裡面的編輯文字記者特約撰述很多功力都是一流的真正有心再寫內容前一期發現大日本已經要集結出書了建議買阿很有意思

我也同意modern大的說法。

ranking guide之類的東西，要解讀前一定要去看table key或methodolody，不然會被排名沖昏，忘了排名背後的因果。畢竟每個人看重的指標不見得相同，給予的權重也不一樣，像US News、FT都是把權重寫得很清楚，看官們可以自行調整，能反推的就反推，不能反推的就給一個量尺數據，弄一份你自己適用的排名，我就是這樣搞。

像BW、WSJ的排名則是無法調整，因為沒有權重，且調查原始數據不知，沒辦法反推。這兩份都很重視insider和recruiter的意見。其中WSJ衡量的完全是國際雇主的意見（沒記錯的話）。
