是Stanford啦, Reo大與我的夢幻母校....對我真的就只是夢了

我遇到的Kellogg校友是個很年輕的GM
長相神似郭富城
interview大部分都在聽我講
人是真的感覺不錯
也問了career path
好像Kellogg的人蠻愛問這題

我還滿好奇喜歡西北的人也喜歡哪些學校
我自已還滿愛ROSS and Darden的

i like K/Columbia/LBS..and apply these three..
for me...it's my paragon
for other....might be a weird portfolio.......hahaha

因為我是要focus on general management w/ concentration on marketing and strategic planning
所以覺得這三間program and learning approach比較適合我
當然最重要的是學校的風格
自己可不可以fit in

我回答說不想因為AT分數不高而失去機會
結果他問我那你第一次考幾分
我說６７０
她就說：這樣還不夠嗎，分數只是一個參考，不是最重要的
令我覺得很不好意思

我覺得西北的面試會著重在工作面
和其選學生的策略有關
像我還有被問到employment gap的問題
為什麼換部門等

我也收到Phone Interview的邀請了

很可怕的是，Kellogg發出的邀請不曉得什麼原因，我一直沒有收到（已檢查垃圾信箱...），直到這一兩天我為了要跑美國一趟而寫信跟admission office打聲招呼，順便表達很可惜沒收到面試邀請時，對方才回說「早在2/15就發出來了....」

只好趕快請對方補寄一次mail，順便敲定interview時間。本來想直接殺到學校做面對面interview，不料等我下週去美國拜訪時，campus interview的期限已過，最後只好約了一個我人在紐約的時段做phone interview...

好緊張啊......

別聽那些什麼分數只是參考的鳥話 這些老美完全不懂...><

直接跟他嗆說
"別以美國人的優勢以管窺天"
" 你們不知道我們亞洲人很可憐的嗎 人口那麼多 滿地是人才 卻一堆人爭那麼一點點的Top商學院缺 你們那些王八蛋商學院個個講求diversity, 人一多競爭就多一堆優秀人才都被刷下來 哪像你們死資本主義老美那麼好申請 真是ox的"
" 我的同儕想申請的人各各實力不遜於我Gmat700+ 我光是輸一個Gmat搞不好就直接被cross out 了 你這笨老美懂不懂阿 dude"


我不是說分數高就一定成功 而是同輩競爭者當中你硬是輸掉一個硬性指標輸太多的話 其他除非實在有很多的特殊表現 不然是很難突出的 我再上班的時候好幾個對口都是大學畢業就進consulting firm了，一個老美柏克萊畢業就進了BCG的(因為他是加州人 申請柏克萊簡單至極)，一個德國人在念Anderson的(後來變accenture，他是理工背景) ， 說真的他們聰明才智真的"不怎麼樣".... 但是人家有的是市場 有的是職缺 我們弱就弱在很多市場因素

千萬別被老美他們以管窺天的態度給虎了 老美常常以為自己是天 但是他們其實是管 百分之八十的基層老美是最最最不國際化 也最不懂國際情勢的一群人

不過這個校友是台灣人啦
只是她1999年就畢業了

我相信西北選學生時
工作經驗可能比分數還重要
但以國際學生而言
我的原則就是play safe

Actually I am very nervous about it, since I am usually perform better communication in face-to-face than on phone.

見不到面只憑聲音溝通，那種無法瞭解對方反應的情形，真的是我最不擅長的....... 但願一切順利。

我也喜歡Ross，不過essay趕不上第二輪，之後一個多月回鍋上班，導致戰力全失無心寫essay，第三輪雖然還剩一兩天也只得放棄，連campus visit都因為行程太趕而排不進去，看來是無緣了......

其他我覺得感覺很像的是Stanford，不過這裡又更難進去了......

i think you can briefly repeat the interview's questions to ensure that you don't misunderstand the questions
this way, you also get some time to scan your script
