Hi ,
Nice to meet you! Sorry first I cannot type Chinese at work and after work back at home these days I am still too buzy with organizing stuffs from China. So I prefer type English at work to reply your email, not to get back to you too late.
Have you received admission letter from UIUC-MSF? Congratulations! And have you decided to come to UIUC?
1. For the curriculum, I should say not deep for me. But it is different to different people with different academic background. I graduated as Bachelor of Business Administration from Sun Yat-Sun(Zhongshan) University on summmer 2004. I feel that most of the courses that UIUC-MSF provided is just repeating what I have learned at university, only 20% overpassing what I knowed. Of course it is common b/c MSF is just a general finance degree. I should say the most part of students are from Taiwan and Korea.
2. Yes, you can definitely use your own lattop
3. If you live far away from main campus and far away from school bus route, you had better buy a car. I lived at Sherman Hall, graduate student dormitory, 5 minutes walking to classroom, very convenient. And I just take school buses to shopping every weekend at Wal-Mart.
4. Whether it is easy to find a job in US really depends on your personal background, expectation, job position preference and most important, your endeavor. It is totally different for every people. As I know for our MSF 2005, two Taiwanese girls find a job before graduation in US, two more get a job 2 months after graduation and around 5-6 remained in US to take another degree such as Master of Statistics, Accounting and Economics. Till now, with F-1 Status in Mainland Chinese students, only me find a job in US among 8 of us. And another Shanghai boy take master of accounting after graduation and get job from EY now. But in whole, as long as you pay time and effort and serious searching and learning in job hunting, plus luck, you could find a job in US.
5. & 6. I cannot think out other special request from UIUC-MSF. If you have further questions, just dump it to me.
