雖然上過莫老師的課,但是這兩題有點小疑問.想做個確認:

7) You could never find a surface solid enough to stand on Saturn because the planet is less dense than water.

a) solid enough to stand on Saturn
b) on sature where it is solid enough to stand
c) where it is solid enough that you can stand on Saturn
d) On saturn that is solid enough to stand
e) that is so solid that one can stand on Saturn

Ans: B

我是覺得d也蠻清楚的.理由是surface應該不是where,也可以用that代.
還是這裡的that也可以帶Saturn, so it is unclear?

可是我記得MoBeBe的考試技巧裡N1介N2that
that是用來修飾N1
所以我寫了兩次都是(D)
而且(B)裡面的it不會有問題嗎?
怎麼唸都是(D)比較順耶~~謝謝~~

你說的沒錯
假設有N1介N2 + adj cl..
以閱讀的角度來看，通常adj cl 是用來修飾N1
但以修辭的角度來看，會有雙重修飾的問題，adj cl..可以用來修飾N1或是N2，造成修飾不清楚，因此(D)非最好的選項。
此外(B)中的it = surface ，前面where (the place which)已經指向Saturn，所以後面的it不會有「可能代替Saturn或是surface」這種指稱不清楚的問題。
