疑問是，為什麼不是(D) are found.
我想but後要加S+V, 難道mammals不能當主詞嗎？

in mammals 是介系詞片語....修飾用....
本句少了主詞與動詞，故選 A

以句意來看...
第二句是說在哺乳動物身上，ribs(they)只有在chest area被找到....
而不是"哺乳動物"在chest area被找到...
