不好意思, 有一題文法想請教各位高手們...

5. Although the Earth's chemical composition had been studied for years, only toward the end of the nineteenth century _____ as a discipline in its own right.
(A) when geochemistry was recognized
(B) was recognized as geochemistry
(C) then recognized as geochemistry
(D) as geochemistry was recognized


答案是B, 其實用消去法也知道是B; 但是我覺得答案選項還是很怪耶..
as後面不是只能接adj嗎? 我知道有人說B選項的答案應該是
"was geochemistry as reconized".
可是感覺更怪, 因為如果去去掉only這個倒裝用法來看, 正確順序應該是..
geochemistry was as recognized as a discipline in its own right.

那麼, was as recognized as a discipline是對的嗎? 有這種用法嗎?

我覺得(B) 應該是 was geochemistry recognized
不倒裝的話就會是 geochemistry was recognized as a discipline.....
這樣是不是順多了？
