　　quartile就是小于median的所有數的median, hehe就是將所有的統計標本按順序排列,再從頭到尾分為個數相同的4堆quartile就是第一堆的最后一個,或是第二堆的第一個題目中,50個數,一定知道median是第25個或第26個同樣,quartile是第12或是13個,the third quartile當然是37或是38個至于到底是37還是38,GRE不會為難你的,這兩個數肯定一樣

　　對Quartile的說明：Quartile（四分位數）：

　　第0個Quartile實際為通常所說的最小值（MINimum）

　　第1個Quartile（En：1st Quartile）

　　第2個Quartile實際為通常所說的中分位數（中數、二分位分、中位數：Median）

　　第3個Quartile（En：3rd Quartile）

　　第4個Quartile實際為通常所說的最大值（MAXimum)

　　我想大家除了對1st、3rd Quartile不了解外，對其他几個統計量的求法都是比較熟悉的了，而求1st、3rd是比較麻煩的，下面以求1rd為例:

　　設樣本數為n（即共有n個數），可以按下列步驟求1st Quartile：

　　（1）將n個數從小到大排列，求(n-1)/4，設商為i，余數為j

　　（2）則可求得1st Quartile為：(第i+1個數)*(4-j)/4+(第i+2個數)*j/4

　　例（已經排過序啦！）：

　　1.設序列為{5}，只有一個樣本則：(1-1)/4 商0，余數0

　　1st=第1個數*4/4+第2個數*0/4=5

　　2.設序列為{1,4}，有兩個樣本則：(2-1)/4 商0，余數1

　　1st=第1個數*3/4+第2個數*1/4=1.75

　　3.設序列為{1,5,7}，有三個樣本則：(3-1)/4 商0，余數2

　　1st=第1個數*2/4+第2個數*2/4=3

　　4.設序列為{1,3,6,10}，四個樣本：(4-1)/4 商0，余數2

　　1st=第1個數*1/4+第2個數*3/4=2.5

　　5.其他類推！

　　因為3rd與1rd的位置對稱，這是可以將序列從大到小排（即倒過來排），再用1rd的公式即可求得：

　　例（各序列同上各列，只是逆排）：

　　1.序列{5}，3rd=5

　　2.{4,1}，3rd=4*3/4+1*1/4=3.25

　　3.{7,5,1}，3rd=7*2/4+5*2/4=6

　　4.{10,6,3,1}，3rd=10*1/4+6*3/4=7

　　ETS明确規定Percentile是一定要求的一個統計量，不知道有沒有G友遇到過關于Percentile的數學題，因為Percentile的計算比較復雜，所以我在此對Percentile的求法詳述，以方便G友：

　　Percentile: percent below用概念來說沒什麼用，而且易讓人糊涂，所以在此我歸納出一個公式以供G友參考。

　　設一個序列供有n個數，要求（k%）的Percentile：

　　（1）從小到大排序，求(n-1)*k%，記整數部分為i，小數部分為j

　　（2）所求結果＝（1－j）*第(i＋1)個數＋j*第(i+2)個數

　　特別注意以下兩種最可能考的情況：

　　（1）j為0，即(n-1)*k%恰為整數，則結果恰為第(i+1)個數

　　（2）第(i+1)個數與第(i+2)個數相等，不用算也知道正是這兩個數。

　　注意：我前面提到的Quartile也可用這種方法計算，

　　其中1st Quartile的k%=25%

　　2nd Quartile的k%=50%

　　3rd Quartile的k%=75%

　　計算結果一樣。

　　例：（注意一定要先從小到大排序的，這里已經排過序啦！）

　　｛1，3，4，5，6，7，8，9，19，29，39，49，59，69，79，80｝共16個樣本

　　（1）30%：(16-1)*30%=4.5=4+0.5

　　(1-0.5)*第5個數＋0.5*第6個數=0.5*6+0.5*7=6.5

　　（2）75%：15*75%=11.25=11+0.25 （3rd Quartile)

　　(1-0.25)*第12個數+0.25*第13個數=0.75*59+0.25*69＝51.5

　　中數median： a value in an ordered set of values below and above which there is an equal number of values or which is the arithmetic mean of the two middle values if there is no one middle number。即一個順序排列數集的中間數，如果數序列為奇數，則中間的數為中數，如果數序列為偶數，則中間兩數的平均數為中數。

　　平均數（Average or mean），指的是所有數的平均。

　　眾數（mode），指的是數集中出現頻率最高的數。

　　值域（range），指的是數集中最大數減最小數。即（min,max）

　　5。standard error（標准偏差）

　　一堆數中，每個數與平均數的差的絕對值之和，除以這堆數的個數(n)

　　e.g. standard error of 0,2,5,7,6 is: (|0-4|+|2-4|+|5-4|+|7-4|+|6-4|)/5=2.4

　　6。standard variation

　　一堆數中，每個數與平均數之差的平方之和，再除以n e.g. standard variation of 0,2,5,7,6 is: _ 2 2 2 2 2_
