依句意, 應以 it 指涉 combination, 是"非限定用法"的省略型"形容詞子句"。

這樣解釋好像句意比較正確。
不過，此時省略的就應該是 the combination is，因為出現兩個指涉相異的 it，就顯得 ambiguous。
