我選(A) that similar to which 但Ans是(D) 我不了解為何會是(D) 因為如果句子是(which is) similar to that which 省略(which is)的話 那that這個先行詞指得是什麼? 想請問各方高手此題的文法結構或原句有省略文法結構部份等 謝謝

答案是D沒有錯的, 本句原句就像你所說的, 是(which is) similar to that which...., 不過,在此的that不是關係代名詞, 所以前面沒有先行辭, 而是一般的代名詞, 代替前面的magnetism, 且作為後面which的先行辭, 這是我小小的見解!不對請多包含....謝謝!!!

Hccill, Thank you for your reply. 不過我不能了解 是 The earth has internal magnetism (which is similar to that) which would result from a particular bar magnet at the center of the Earth. 省略括弧中不影響句子主要結構但相對的括弧中的句意 不就互相矛盾? magnetism 相似於magnetism 這裡差入關代的補充為何?

其實前面的 magnetism 和後面 that 所代替的 magnetism 是有不同
前面的 magnetism → internal magnetism
後面的 magnetism → （which would result from a particular bar magnet at the center of the Earth）所引導的形容詞子句當形容詞來修飾的magnetism
