如題:賴水信高分托福文法p.346(107)
.........in Iowa than in any other state.
(A)More hogs are raised
(B)Hogs being raised more
(C)Now that more hogs are raised
(D)There are more hogs are raised
答案是(A), 如果(D)改成There are more hogs raised 可以對嗎?如果不可以,為什麼?又,如果可以,和(A)的正解翻譯有啥不同?

可以啊
如果是 There are more hogs raised in Iowa than in any other state.
或是 There are more hogs which are raised in Iowa than in any other state.
都可以的 因為 (which are) 是可以省略的
我覺得翻譯上沒什麼大不同
唯一不同的是More hogs are raised in Iowa than in any other state. 強調的是hogs
如果有there are的話強調的是"有"這個事實

就托福的文法而言,改正後的D並沒有任何錯誤,絕對可以接受,
但如就GMAT或GRE的修辭,若A與改正後的D做選擇,仍要選擇A,因為there是虛字,選A比較簡潔
