如題:賴水信高分托福文法p.369(35)

(D)Besides
答案是(C) 為何(D)不行?
我的問題是among 和besides在答題時除了語意上的辨認, 有沒有其他辨認方法?

文法上好像besides, among都蠻行的
among放進句子裡 會很合理
在所有… 之中，magnesium被用來…
如果是接besides
那這句會等於
magnesium is used in great amounts in the aviation industry besides the most useful of the lightweight metals.
應該是像這樣:
magnesium is used in great amounts in [the aviation industry] besides [the most useful of the lightweight metals].
那就是magnesium被用在飛行工業上
也被用在 [the most useful of the lightweight metals]上
這樣很怪

between只兩者之間，先刪除，all of改成Of all應該就可以，和among都變成prep可加NP，行成獨力介係詞片語。Besides也是prep沒錯，但是語義上好像錯了。本義是在所有最有用的輕金屬中，鎂被在飛行工業中大量使用。如果是Besides的話，語義是除了最有用的輕金屬外，鎂被在飛行工業中大量使用。那是說鎂不是輕金屬或不是金屬囉？答案當然不對。讀過化學元素表都知道鎂是輕金屬。元素表最左邊第一排，好像叫鹼輕族是吧?sorry!我是唸文科的。所以解文法題，除了看文法結構也要看語意。
如:My classmate is a school flower。(今天上莫清崴的課教的)
My classmate是S也是N, be動詞後用單數不定冠詞對，school flower也是單數名詞做主詞補語，文法結構也沒錯啊!!但是語意錯，要改成My classmate is a school beauty。
