這一題我覺得要小心的是.. 分母不同 (不知道M, S 各有多少人) 不可以比較數量

A 肯定錯
B 不知道>$40,000 如何分布..也許 40~60間分布最多人也說不定
C 沒有給兩個County's total number of people不可比較數量
D avg income= total income/number of ppl (不知數量) 不可比較

既然題目都說 S >$60,000是the highest 那麼 M >$60,000的比例絕對不會大於 S

那也就很明顯 答案(E)是正確的

我的理解 有錯就麻煩各位ㄌ

這一題我把他的薪資結構想成金字塔的形狀
薪資越高,越上面的金字塔頂端
這一題有太多不確定性,假如S國在6000跟8000之間站絕大多數,那....結果又不一樣了
這題要跟統計一樣,給個平均分佈題目假設才會比較好
不知大家意見為何??

既然題目都說 S >$60,000是the highest 那麼 M >$60,000的比例絕對不會大於 S

那也就很明顯 答案(E)是正確的

(大於40000的收入比例比其他國家高)
S:( >=60,000)% is highest in Sommer county.
(大於60000的收入比例"在S裡頭是最高")
可推論->M:( >=40000)% > S:( >=40,000)%> S:( >=60,000)%
如果M( >=40000)中大部分都是( >=60,000)%
那還是很有可能 M ( >=60,000)%大於 S啊~~

不支持E的原因就像mike之前曾提及的一樣
E的選項說

雖然文中說S在60000以上的比例為最多
但或許S大部分的分佈都在60000-80000之間
相較之下 雖然M在60000之上的比例沒有S高
但難保證80000以上一定比S少或多

題目問的是
If the statements above are true, which of the following can properly be concluded on the basis of them?

E選項的內容我認為是 也許對 也許不對

而B選項
B. Some households in Merton county have an annual income between $40,000 and $60,000.

先不論some所指的範圍/意義為何
所陳述的內容至少是正確無誤可以從文章中推出的 而不會有也許對 也許不對的情形＝>M的確是有household的income在40000到60000間

再者 假若把SOME在此解釋為一部份
而非 "一些/些許" 應該會比較順吧

考點在於Merton $40000以上最多而Sommer在 $60000以上最多
那麼Merton必有些家庭是介於40000~60000
否則若Merton 都高於$60000,則上面式子顯然矛盾!!
