Beneath the surface of the ocean there lies a hidden world inhabit by plants and animals we rarely see.

答案是C，我想問B為什麼要用there lies，不是應該lies就好了嗎
因為開頭是表示地點的介係詞片語，後面不是應該就主詞和動詞倒裝嗎
為什麼還加個there??

這一題我跟你有一樣滴問題耶不懂為什麻還要多一個there 只是我看那一份考古題都沒有人問這問題覺滴是不是自己跟人家想法都不一樣請知道滴人幫忙解釋一下好嘛謝謝喔

個人看法是 "Beneath the surface of the ocean"是副詞片語, 所以如果沒有there, 這句就沒主詞了. 所以不能選B..

如果是副詞片語，那ocean後方應該要又逗點比較恰當。

Sorry, 因為不太懂所以拿去問文法老師了. 她說那個there代替地方副詞在句子中是可有可無的, 通常是不需要所以沒寫, 但就算存在也不能算錯. 她舉的例子是一篇有關南極地形的閱讀, 其中有一句如下:
A huge freshwater lake lies hidden there under four kilometers of ice. 這個there是可有可無, 這邊是有. 如果這句倒裝起來, 就成了 Under four kilometers of ice there lies a huge freshwater lake.
