W: You know something? I can’t wait to go home for spring break. My hometown is so small that everybody knows you.

Man: Yeah, and everybody knows your business, too. And talks about it all the time.
Q: What does the man mean?
(A) A small town can have negative qualities.
(B) It can be difficult to run a business in a small town.
(C) His family owns a business in his hometown.
(D) He would like to visit the woman's hometown.

好怪喔！我盡量用刪去法，可是(A)的答案好像也怪怪的！

這題重點在於問toeflwoman意指什麼，所以toeflwoman說了一堆廢話，廢話就是她等不及放春假，這些沒聽到或是聽不懂都沒關係。toeflwoman說的重點在於她的hometown是個小城鎮。
而最重要在toeflman說最重要的重點一定要於語氣，這點應該小心聽是postive或是negative。toeflman說那在小城鎮中，大家都知道你的事，也會成天討論你的事。
先看一下答案:
B錯。這是一個不要臉的答案，因為聽到business就出個business選項讓你選。標準TOEFL不要臉的選項。
C錯，同理上，就是標準不要臉TOEFL聽力選項。TOEFL聽力不是考聽到哪個單字就選哪個單字，而是要瞭解談話的情境以推論其內容。
會選B和C代表問題很嚴重，完全抓不到TOEFL考聽力的方向，去考試是沒有希望的。
D錯，由文意可得知toeflman說的話是negative，所以答案不可能是postive的他想去visit the toeflwoman's hometown.
就由刪去法就知道答案是A。
再看A，由文意就知道toeflman覺得small town有人們閒言閒語的習慣，又看到是negative，當然選A了。

這種解題法是哈佛補習班外籍老師Jeff的解題的方法喔~~
by the way, business在這是解為事情，不是商業喔!
ex: It's none of your business.(這不關你的事。)
如果不懂business在這裏的解釋，那也是沒有希望的。
