我的疑問是：
我一直對這種在文法題目裡，莫名其妙就有逗點的句子感到疑惑，像這句為何 that 後面可以接逗點呢？
之前上美加袁允貞老師的課時，她曾說過對於這種前後有逗點的句子都可視為〝同位格〞，可省略不看...
所以 , Albert Einstein showed that, 也算同位格嗎？

我覺得這句要變成這樣會比較順眼...

就算沒有同位格好了，showed 可以直接接 matter and energy can be converted into one another, 還是要放個that在中間？

個人覺得 under special circumstances 比較算是屬於補充的插入句
所以 In the early 1900's, Albert Einstein showed that matter and energy can be converted into one another.
合起來看成為一個副詞子句跟主要子句 那個that後面是名詞子句 是showed的受詞
而under special circumstances 是在補充說明那個名詞子句 拿掉也可以
如果看句意 會比較快了解哪個是插入句 希望這可以幫到你

我只是覺得很奇怪，如果照老師的說法，那這句 ,Albert Einstein showed that,
不也可以當同位格省略不看，不過如果再問下去好像有點太鑽牛角尖了

常常只是補充的性質

不過在這題
這個under special circumstances
並不是同位格喔!!

老師說可以當作同位格一樣
應該是說可以把她省略先不看
不過這句在這裡絕非同位格
而是補充修飾的副詞

舉另外一個例子
補充的副詞可以用兩個逗號圍起來
