我看不太懂題目的意思,講一下我的認知
某種生物改造的棉花可以產生殺蟲劑對抗壞蟲,到去年為止都是有效的,但是今年失敗了,這個蟲未必會對棉花產生的殺蟲劑有抵抗性,這種蟲都是在穀類上繁殖,且去年有較多的穀類生長在棉花區,所以很有可能這種蟲戰勝棉花

我說說我看到的疑點，沒有產生殺蟲物質的棉花，遭受了不尋常的大損失，
可是從這裡看不出這種棉花的損失是因為蟲增多了才受損失還是因為沒有抗蟲性而遭受大損失

另一個選項D 是否這種具抗蟲性的棉花經常被別種害蟲侵擾，如果是的話會產生另有他因，
也就是損失是因為別的蟲損害而不是因為bollworms，可是如果沒有其他種類蟲的侵襲，
只有這種蟲變多，那麼就有可能推測是因為蟲變多使得有抗蟲性的棉花損害變大所以我認為D比較合理

個人認為就把它想像成：棉花v.s.蟲 必須呈一定比例，棉花才能達成它防病蟲害的功能
因為今年corn大量成長＝>使得蟲 大量多於 棉花
使得棉花在成長到成它防病蟲害的功能之前就被大量的蟲 overwhelmed了
