Ross 是一間非常diversified 的學校
同學的background幾乎包含各種你想的到的行業
可以想見的,我們的general management和marketing是我們學校的特色,Ross的MAP project是我們學校很大的特色
每位Ross的學生在第一年的Winter B term有大約1個半月到兩個月的時間參與企業界的consulting project,location可能在美國,在
亞洲,或在歐洲,MAP一方面提供學生很好的機會去應用所學的知識
到real business cases,另一方面也為學生在暑期intern之前打下很好的基礎,很多學生summer intern的公司就是MAP的公司

Finance career這幾年在Ross有計畫的發展下也提升很快
Michigan的alumni 在Wall Street的人數成長的非常快
這一兩年平均每年有40位的MBA students投入Investment banking相關的行業

想請問一下MAP的公司是怎麼決定的呀?

Dear 維尼:

好久不見,最近好嗎?
Map project的類型是包含各種不同產業在real world所遭遇到的問題或是幫公司評估未來成長的機會
MAP project是依據學生所填志願的區域、興趣和學生本身的background來決定的
MAP team由4~6位學生組成
區域可以選擇international 或美國本地
學生可以依照本身的興趣選擇10個區域
學校會依據該區域申請人的background做最後的決定
一般來說,大多數的同學都會申請到自己還蠻想去的區域
目前Ross每年會有約85個MAP project

另外的好處是corporate sponsor會幫我們搞定住宿,機票
及一些必要的花費

嗨 我目前是ROSS MBA1, 之前申請時因為排不到校友面試, 所以用PHONE INTERVIEW, 問題基本上大同小異,你可以參考相關文章, 比較頭痛是因為時差, 必須起個大早(凌晨4點)打到學校, 整個過程大約30分鐘, 面試官是當時的MBA2. 如果還有其他問題可以幫忙解答的, 歡迎提出!

可以請問一下Ross往年都是申請人自己要求面試，為什麼今年改用invitation only呢？是否學校的錄取政策有些轉變？

Dear Mr. bassblur, how r u doing over there? How was the temperature in Michigan now? Have u stared ur MAP already?

Michigan is one of my target school, but received no invitation to interview so far, kinda neverous. Maybe I shall refine my essays to apply in the second round than being to rushed to submit in the first.

Anyway, wish u good luck in you study in Michigan and if I get interview invitation, I will ask u for more insider's information.

I already finished the on-campus interview.
All the questions are the formal questions such as
1 the gap of mine
2 career path
3 Why MBA Why michigan
4 traveling experience
5 team experience
6 hobby
7 communication skill
8 short-term long term goal
9 what kind of MAp i wanna take

I have prepared for a week with my gf so there is no surprising question for me. For the friends who wanna prepare the interview, I will recommend that practice with somebody the whole process by english and then you can find your weaknesses and a better way to express exactly what you wanna say.

I wanna ask some questions for the current Michigan students:
1 how many Taiwanese at Ross in thoses years?
2 how is the intern situation and how many students really got job. I apply MBA finance. I wanna pursue the investment career goal. If the probability is very low, i will pursue the corporate tracks because my priority is that find a job and with my Gf in USA.
I know its very hard for internationals to find a job in the IB field. Hope any experienced friends can help me to share their experiences.

I wanna ask some questions for the current Michigan students:
1 how many Taiwanese at Ross in thoses years?
2 how is the intern situation and how many students really got job. I apply MBA finance. I wanna pursue the investment career goal. If the probability is very low, i will pursue the corporate tracks because my priority is that find a job and with my Gf in USA.

1. We have 4 second-year students and 6 first-years from Taiwan.
2. Out of the 4 second-years, for the summer internship 2 got marketing offers in the U.S., 1 got an marketing offer in Taiwan, and the last one got an IB in the States.
3. For full-time, the IBer accept an return offer, and the other marketing geeks want to look for better alternatives and thus are still searching.

Last, do bear in mind that Statistic does not mean a lot because you may be the exceptional case, better or worse. Therefore, sticking with your goal and working hard for it, and you should get what you want.

B-school would like to recruit the students who has the potential to be a future leader.
Undoubtedly,leadership is a very important quality for Ross.
Teamwork is also another quality that Ross strongly focuses.
Being a Ross student,you will have a lot of teamwork projects here. MAP is the most famous one.
Most students here are very humble and helpful.

Most importantly,I would suggest you spending a lot of time on how to differentiate you from others. Every one is unique.
That would help you stand out in the application process.

原因我也不清楚, 如果你真的很想知道, 是不是可以更具體化你的concern? 我想這樣學校比較能夠提供你要的解答, 不過起碼得等到下星期才有答案, 因為美國在過感恩節..... 祝申請順利!

原因我也不清楚, 如果你真的很想知道, 是不是可以更具體化你的concern?

無條件面試可以增加許多人的錄取機會，但是如果是篩選性的面試，可能就變成只有application relatively better的人有機會被錄取了。因此我在想是不是學校因為往年有些經驗而導致修改策略？(ex. 花太多時間在面試一些不可能被錄取的人，所以寧可今年起把重心放在application....純猜測)

此外，Ross的放榜是採取同日通知嗎？還是先到先審先通知？(一直等結果很痛苦啊....)
