OG(11th)-24
For members of the seventeenth-century Ashantination in Africa, anima-hide shields with wooden frames were essential items of military equipment, a method to protect warriors against enemy arrows and spears.
(A)a method to protect
(C)protecting
所以OG說 Replacing the underlined phrase with
the participle "protecting"
creats a modifying phrase that clearly explains the purpose of the items of military equipment.
In 1850 Lucretia Mott published her Discourse on Women,
arguing in a treatise for women to have equal political and legal rights and for changes in the married women’s property laws.
B. arguing in a treatise for equal political and legal rights for women
E. a treatise that argued for equal political and legal rights for women
discourse - a serious speech or piece of writing on a particular subject (from longman)
example: a discourse on art
treaty 協定/或合同- a formal written agreement between two or more countries or governments (from longman)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucretia_Mott
In 1850 Mott wrote
Discourse on Woman, a book about restrictions on women in the United States.
1)是 equal political and legal rights for women
2)是 changes in the married women’s property laws
In 1850 Lucretia Mott published her
Discourse on Women,
arguing for (equal political and legal rights for women)
and for (changes in the married women’s property laws) in a treatise.
